Bath, Somerset

went to bath yesterday. the bus was supposed to be at 9.30am but it came an hour late. damnit... we wanted to visit the stonehenge, a world heritage site but it'll take 2 hours to the site. because we were delayed by the bus, we had to compromise between to walk around bath or to the stonehenge. we decide to walk around bath.

there's nothing much to see in bath. first stop in roman baths, nothing much to see. but something interesting happened in the roman baths. there was a girl wearing low cut dress with huge boobies. i didnt notice her till antonis told me to look at her. but we didnt know that the girl's mom was standing right beside us when antonis told me. hahaha.. the mom then whispered to her and she started to adjust her shirt and was trying to cover her boobies. what a joke! if she doesnt want to show them what for she pang phuah liap la. she should have wore something more proper. she must be proud of her assets to wear low cut dress. why not just show them?! girls are girls.. and she said something like "these guys like boobs" *lol* we're not perverts but the whole situation made us look like one. shite..

then we had lunch at the pump room. fine dining, but it cost us 20quid each! *ouch* the food cant even fill a quarter of my stomach. then walked around.. abbey bath (we didnt go in cause we visited enough churches when we were in italy) and the pulteney bridge.

then we chilled at the parades garden while we waited for the bus back to bristol. another funny story to tell. karen was trying to take a photo of me when she lost her balance and she fell. hahaha.. how i wish she rolled down the slope!! haha.. jus kidding..

Ciao Firenze..

it's quite a small town. it's walking distance to almost all the attractions.

1. we checked into a nicer hostel this time. we got a room just for us. we finally get to enjoy hot showers and the toilets were clean.

2. oh, i broke the bed but it wasnt my fault. the screw of that bed was loose. it must be the result of karen turning left and right in her sleep the night before. so happened i sat on it and it broke. unlucky and unfortunate sern wei. *i'm innocent #3* marcus agrees with me in this one.

3. we ate traditional italian style pig's stomach at the market near to the duomo. close to asian food but not that good compares to asian food. we left our signature there, too. when you're at florence, remember to look for that shop, look for our names, tell the lady owner we recommended you and you'll get discount. cool, huh?!

4. we visited the oldest church in florence which was consecrated in 393a.c. it's about 1600 years old.

5. we conquered 414 steps to the top of giotto's bell tower. we paid and we suffered. but the view from the top was worth it.

6. the leaning tower of pisa, my third wonder of the world. it's leaning about 4.5m to one side. that's alot. had to wait for few hours before our turn to climb up pisa; about 300 steps. the waiting was dreadful..

wonder at my back and 2 wonderful ladies by my side. u can't get luckier than me ;)

7. we had a wonderful dinner at this restaurant,Golden View Open Gallery by the arno river but we couldnt get a table by the window overseeing the river. but it was a wonderful dinner. the food was delicious, the wine was good and the company was great. a few glasses of wine and marcus was tipsy. haha. sorry to say this but cai mei can drink better than you, marcus. i quote russell peters, "be a man!"

here are some italian words i learned
1. ciao - hello/goodbye
2. buongiorno - good day
3. buonasera - good evening/afternoon
4. arrivederci - goodbye
5. grazie - thank you
6. bella - beautiful
7. grazie - thank you
8. prego - welcome

9. parla inglese? - do you speak English?

ciao bella italia..

p/s: how do you call spaghetti in italian?

Città del Vaticano

can u walk a country in a day? i DID.. i walked the vatican city in half a day. it's the smallest independent nation in the world. it's territory consists of a walled enclave within the city of rome. there wasnt much to say as we only spent half a day here.

1. we actually wanted to visit the vatican a day before but the queue stretched almost 2km. we came back early the next day to beat the queue; about 8am.

2. there were so many paintings, on the walls and ceilings. there were so much to see on the ceilings till my neck ached. so many statues, tooo.. left and right..

3. i finally found an english spoken tour guide in saint peter. so i tried to eavesdrop on her introducing the saint peter. karen misunderstood me for checking girls out and sounded me. poor sern wei was innocent. *i'm innocent #2*

inside saint peter

p/s: come to think about it, this is the only place where karen's poo radar didnt work. ;)

Buongiorno Roma!!

Ciao (hello) ppl.. i just got back from italia last monday. everything was too much. i've never had so much pizza, pasta and gelato in my life. i've never seen so many statues. i've never been to a church and i've visited a life's worth of churches in this trip. so here are the highlights.

1. our flight to rome was early and the last bus to stansted was bout 11pm. waiting at the airport wasnt as fun as i thought it would be. i tried to sleep but the monkeys are always up to mischief (marcus tried to tie both of my shoe laces together. bro, what if i fall face flat on the ground?!!!) so i got to be alert.

2. first few hours in rome, Karen's radar started picking up dog poos here and there, north south east west, behing and inside the rocks *knock knock* inside the rocks?!! yea, it's weird but thats what she said. haha.

3. got to the hostel but it was still close. damn it. waited an hour or two before we checked in. but companions were good so nothing to complain bout the waiting. this is my first time staying in a hostel/backpackers. let me tell u(complain) bout my stay here. the shower bath was bad; sometimes cold sometimes hot. if u're a light sleeper, then this is definitely not a place for u to stay cos there'll be snore orchestra playing every night. i'm not complaining bout this as i'm a member of the orchestra *wink*. oh, marcus's alarm woke everyone up. he didnt know cos he had his ipod pluged into his ear. i didnt care cos i was too tired. Karen thought it was my alarm so she kicked my bed many many many times till i nearly fell off the bed. i'm pissed. *i'm innocent #1* learned to play foosball during the stay. lost to ivano (owner of the hostel) 3 nights in the row but marcus lost to me 3 nights in a row. haha

4. oh ya, i was named Sonny by one of the waiters in La Tavernetta. to coringT who calls me senior and derrick, hilda n others who call me george, if u guys dont wanna call me by my name, u can call me sonny. it sounds better than george *yuck*.

5. this time, i get to board the tube first cos they're feeling guilty for leaving me behind when we were in london. haha. marcus with his bad sense of direction strikes again. he led us to wrong tubes 3 times. when are u gonna admit that??

6. we visited trevi fountain 4 times cos karen said we need to see the fountain in the day, at night and anytime of the day. hehe..

7. we dined in LC Rest where tom cruise dined before

8. we met up with cai mei n shafiq on the last in rome. it was a good thing as i was getting bored seeing the same person 24/7. hahahaha.. i'm kidding.

9. u can find fake LV, gucci, prada etc n pirated vcds n dvds on the street, too. n they drive like malaysians, too.. way to go!!

i think that's bout it..
